"Mary and Roger,
The Red Horse Inn is nothing short of amazing. Thanks for providing
such a stunning example of the power of human imagination and
ambition. Most of us pay lip service to the idea of following a
dream, but never believe enough to follow through. There is
typically "yeah, but" in our words where dreams are concerned.
Obviously, though, your belief was powerful enough to see your dream
to fruition, despite the odds, and despite what I imagine was an
enormous pile of details.
This reminder is especially poignant today, as Sandra and I prepare
to embark on a new life together. I proposed to Sandra last night,
in this room, and by the Grace of God, she said yes!
As two nearly middle-aged adults who have seen our share of
adversity, we feel blessed to have the memory of our experience at
the Red Horse Inn to associate with our new life together, and to
remind us of the power of burning desire.
