The Red Horse Inn SELECTED TO SHOWCASE THE MOUNTAIN REGION OF SOUTH CAROLINA
IN NATIONAL AD CAMPAIGN
Landrum, SC – The Red Horse Inn has a spot on the new national ad campaign by
SCPRT (South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism), displaying
the mountain region of the state of South Carolina.
The Red Horse Inn has been selected for its beautiful mountain views to
exemplify that South Carolina, known for its wonderful beach resorts, also hosts
nine state parks just off scenic Highway 11 in the foothills of the Blue Ridge
Mountains. The Upstate is the perfect playground for those who enjoy waterfalls,
wineries, covered bridges, hiking, fishing, or white water rafting… and all of
those activities are short drive from The Red Horse Inn.
"South Carolina is unique in many ways," said SCPRT director Chad Prosser.
"South Carolina’s endless variety of activities, destinations and attractions –
as well as reputation for hospitality – make us a natural vacation choice."
The campaign will include television, magazine and online advertising in markets
east of the Mississippi River, including eight targeted spot markets.
"The message is powerful and direct," said Prosser, "The campaign showcases our
strengths as a leisure destination. We’re putting a stake in the ground that
says when you need a vacation, South Carolina is made for it."
In addition to debuting a South Carolina television general consumer commercial
and new campaign targeting the leisure traveler, Prosser also revealed
television, print and online ads delivering a dedicated golf message and
incorporating the Made For Vacation message. The golf spot will air on the Golf
Channel, while the print and digital ads will be distributed through golf
publications and golf web sites.
Commercials featuring the Made For Vacation message appear at

The new advertising campaign was developed by the Bounce Agency in Greenville.
The television spots were produced by Mad Monkey, a Columbia-based film and
production company. The web site is being developed by Aristotle, a nationally
recognized firm that specializes in tourism web sites.
About The Red Horse Inn
In 1995, Mary and Roger Wolters purchased nearly 200 acres in the foothills of
the Blue Ridge Mountains. They built six charming cottages and a main inn that
houses six luxurious guest rooms, a conference center and a dining room and
called it The Red Horse Inn. They functioned as the architects, designers,
general contractors, and "hands on" builders for the entire project.
Located 30 minutes from Greenville and Spartanburg, SC and 30 minutes from
Hendersonville, NC, it is a location of convenience for those wanting a weekend
getaway, couples retreat, a romantic honeymoon vacation, wedding or an inspiring
resort for those desiring a corporate retreat.
The Red Horse Inn has won numerous awards. The inn was honored as "Best
Honeymoon or Anniversary Getaway" by Inn Traveler, named one of the top 25 "Best
Undiscovered Incredibly Romantic Inns" by BedAndBreakfast.com, was recipient of
the coveted "2008 Top 10 Romantic Inns" award from American Historic Inns, Inc.,
