Join Us
for Our 2nd Annual Beagle Tea!
Sunday, February 19th Beagling is an age old sport that still thrives today and The Red Horse Inn is proud to offer an opportunity for you to partake in this age old tradition. Packs of beagles both formal and informal carry on a tradition that is enjoyed by individuals young and old. Listening to the "sound of music" when the beagles are in chase of their quarry is a magnificent experience we recommend to everyone. The Old Tryon Foot Beagles are proud to be a part of that heritage. Hunting from mid-October until mid-March, families and friends come out on Sunday afternoons to partake in this wonderful experience. The miles of trails that ribbon throughout The Red Horse Inn's 192 acres of pasture and forest create the perfect environment for the Beagles to flush out the rabbits. Come experience a robust hike on a cold winter afternoon and then experience the warmth of fellowship at the Beagle Tea. The Red Horse Inn invites you to join us for our second annual Beagle Tea on Sunday, February 19, 2012. The Beagling begins promptly at 3:00 PM, followed by libations and the Beagle Tea. Requires a one-night stay on Sunday, February 19th or a two consecutive night stay during the weekend of February 17th through 19th. Package includes Beagle Tea, daily breakfast and the chance to experience the sport of Beagling. Rooms and Cottages are priced at our regular rates. Lake Adger Boat Tours Offers Discount
to Red Horse Guests! Owners Jean-Jacques and Sue Benoist say: couples who are Red Horse guests get $30 off their 1.5 hour all-electric boat tour ride when the guests mention that they are staying at The Red Horse Inn... Lake Adger offers some of the most beautiful natural shoreline views anywhere, without all the usual boathouses and endless homes. The lake presents four distinct vistas that include the mountains of the Brights Creek area and White Oak / Tryon Peaks. Passengers of Lake Adger Boat Tours frequently enjoy sightings of osprey, beavers, otters, deer, turkey, herons, wood ducks, bats (the shy ones) and even a bald eagle on occasion. Sunset at the headwaters overlooking Wildcat Range is always a welcome treat. The boat just glides over the water and sounds like a soft waterfall all during the cruise. Your tour guide is very knowledgeable about Lake Adger's history, the few homes you'll see, current lake uses, and is also conversant about wildlife and fishing if you like. All tours are private -- your tour group consists only of the folks you want aboard, up to a maximum of four passengers. Also, your tour can be customized! Come and enjoy a uniquely peaceful, wonderful experience and get a discount as a Red Horse Inn guest! Reservations are required. Please call 828-894-2144 or visit www.lakeadgerboattours.com. |

Come Fly With Us!
With four passes over the lake, there's plenty of opportunity to get wet! Chattooga Ridge Canopy Tours opened their 2011 season on March 5th. Set on 20 acres and designed to highlight the distinct features of the Historic Longcreek Academy property, this brand-new facility includes a selection of 20 unique ziplines, towers, helicopter lifts and swinging sky bridges. This is a gliding and soaring experience, not an extreme drop-type zip line and is fun for all ages. The course varies from tall towers to tree tops with sections up to 70 feet high and up to 500 feet long with four zips across Academy Lake. Tim Todd, Executive Director of Discover Upcountry, was invited to the Sneak Preview tour. “I was a little apprehensive about soaring from tree to tree hanging on to a 3/8” cable, but after the first “flight,” my anxiety quickly turned into excitement. It was a lot less scary and a lot more fun than I was expecting. I’m ready to go again!” 1.866.319.8870 |
