Like all Red Horse Inn cottages, Huntbox sits separately from the Main Inn, offering couples a more secluded corner of the property. With cathedral ceilings, wainscoting woodwork throughout, and a lofted layout that feels both open and grounded, this cottage offers a warmer, more structured atmosphere than our other retreats. Huntbox is especially well-suited for couples traveling with a dog who want privacy, comfort, and space to settle in for a two- or three-night stay.
Huntbox trades the outdoor hot tub for a whirlpool bath, full kitchen, and flexible pet accommodations — making it ideal for longer stays and guests traveling with dogs.
Set apart from the Main Inn like all Red Horse Inn cottages, Huntbox offers couples a defined sense of privacy. While neighboring cottages are nearby, the layout and orientation create a quieter pocket of calm—especially on the front and back porches.
A queen-sized bed, seasonal gas log fireplace, and whirlpool tub with shower create a relaxed, stay-in kind of comfort—ideal for two- to three-night escapes.
Fresh muffins or croissants, fruit, yogurt, and breakfast bars are prepared and waiting, with coffee and tea ready to brew in your Keurig.
Huntbox Cottage does not offer Wi-Fi by design, encouraging quieter evenings, slower mornings, and real connection. Satellite TV and a DVD player are available.
Cathedral ceilings rise above wainscoting woodwork and warm wood tones throughout, giving Huntbox a grounded, structured feel. The upstairs loft lounge adds a second space to unwind.
A full kitchen makes it easy to keep things simple—coffee in, dinner in, and no need to leave your private space.
Well-behaved dogs and cats are welcome with a one-time cleaning fee, making Huntbox one of the few truly pet-friendly romantic cottages in the Upstate foothills.
With a lofted layout and generous living area, Huntbox offers room to settle in comfortably—especially when traveling with a pet.

We had a wonderful stay at The Red Horse Inn! We thoroughly enjoyed the stunning view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, hiking the grounds, and trying the great selection of wines in the wine bar. Our cabin was cozy and private and we loved the hot tub on our back deck! We'll definitely stay there again. Highly recommend!

This was an optimal setting for our 2-night anniversary getaway. We stayed in the Gable, an upstairs room in the main inn offering beauty and privacy while at the same time being positioned for us to have a balcony spot for Friday night music with Helen Campbell and co-musicians. Hosts were most hospitable.
