We’ve gathered the most helpful information for your stay in one place — including breakfast details, restaurant recommendations, wine bar information, nearby activities, guest-only contact information, and our favorite local guides.
Planning the details of a vacation can be time-consuming, and you may not always find the best way to spend your time. This page is designed as your quick planning guide before and during your stay at The Red Horse Inn.
We’ve included our most-requested restaurant recommendations and local ideas below. For a broader look at the region, you can also explore our full Area Guide.
Our main phone line closes at 6:00 PM and reopens at 9:00 AM.
If you need anything outside of those hours while you are staying with us, please call:

This number is reserved for current guests during their stay. Please do not use this number before your day of arrival.
Our wine bar is open during scheduled seasonal events, not daily walk-in service. If you'd like a bottle or glass of wine outside the regularly scheduled event, we'll do our best to accommodate.
Advance tickets are required for most wine bar experiences, including Friday and Saturday Wine on the Terrace events. Wine, beer, and snacks are sold separately unless specifically stated.
Please do not bring outside alcohol, food, or beverage containers to the wine bar, terrace, or arbor during the events. You may consume your own food or beverages on the terrace outside event hours. The events are typically on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 - 9 pm and Sunday from 2 pm - 5 pm. Please check our events schedule to confirm no additional events have been scheduled.
There is no smoking on the Grand Terrace or under the Arbor.
Guests are welcome to explore more than 10 miles of nature-based trails throughout the property.
Our trails include mixed terrain and unmarked paths, offering a true sense of adventure. They are ideal for hiking, trail running, or simply wandering through the foothills during your stay.
Please wear appropriate shoes, bring water, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors just steps from your accommodation.
Our breakfast setup is intentionally relaxed and private. We do not have a dining room. Instead, we place breakfast items in your accommodation before you arrive, so you can enjoy breakfast on your own schedule.
Your breakfast basket typically includes muffins or croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, instant oatmeal or grits, orange juice, and coffee or tea.
There is no need to wake up at a certain time or get dressed to come to a central location. Relax — you’re on vacation.
The Red Horse Inn does not have a full restaurant, but there are several locally owned dining options within a short drive.
The Landrum and Tryon area offers scenic drives, small-town shopping, wineries, hiking, waterfalls, covered bridges, and outdoor adventures.
The Blue Ridge foothills surrounding Landrum and Tryon are home to several boutique vineyards and tasting rooms. Many guests enjoy making a relaxed afternoon out of visiting one or two nearby wineries before returning to the Inn.
These are self-guided day trips we enjoy when we have time to explore the area. They are designed to help you experience some of our favorite local stops at your own pace.
Each Red Horse Adventure Guide is designed to be the perfect day — or couple of days — date idea while you are staying in the Blue Ridge foothills.
